Hands-on Experience!

Many hands make light work

Dreams Can Come True!

Have you ever wanted to own acreage, live close to nature, grow nutrient dense food and attain higher levels of freedom?

I did, and I started with no knowledge, no money, and no manual skills. I had never planted a seed in my life, never used an impact driver, never dug a trench, never cleaned a chicken coop, and never had a garden to grow my own food.

3.5 years later, I’m living on 28 acres of land with a breathtaking view on the world renowned Gatineau Hills and co-own a purpose-driven business with a likeminded partner who shares the same vision and values as I do.

We’ve created a market garden, farm stand, food forest, hoop-houses, chicken coop, seedling nursery, and complete Scandinavian inspired Spa. As a revenue generator and to meet likeminded people, we also rent out Bell tent dwellings on Hipcamp.

After I arrived on the land, I knew I needed mentorship to know how to design, plan and build out my first garden.

That’s when I called world renowned Edible Ecosystem Designer, Zach Loeks. Zach is a wealth of knowledge, very dedicated, passionate and highly organized and meticulous in his work. He is to permaculture what Maurice Richard is to hockey.

About Zach Loeks

Zach is an edible ecosystem designer, educator and author.

He consults widely with homes, farms, colleges, schools and municipalities across Canada and the United States, and through many biomes from Guatemala and South Africa to the Yukon and Mongolia.

He also manages an award-winning farm with diversified food forest products, heirloom garlic, and a hardy tree nursery.

His innovations have won three provincial awards and are featured in his books: The Permaculture Market Garden, The Edible Ecosystem Solution and The Two-wheel Tractor Handbook.

He is the director of the Ecosystem Solution Institute, which is dedicated to the education, propagation and inspiration of ecosystem solutions for land use transition. The Institute oversees pathbreaking education sites, including an Edible Biodiversity Conservation Area near Ottawa, Ontario and a suburban food forest in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Zach is passionate about how small actions -strategically linked – can make big change.
